Description

Product Overview

PP industrial water pump for general-purpose water transfer, circulation, and supply in corrosive industrial environments — designed with PP volute and impeller for corrosion immunity in applications where the water chemistry may vary or contain corrosive agents. Unlike a standard cast iron water pump that rusts from the inside when water chemistry changes (pH shifts, chemical carryover, seasonal variations), the PP pump is inherently corrosion-resistant through its full material thickness. Used for cooling water circulation, tank transfer, sump drainage, scrubber water feed, and general industrial water movement where pump reliability in a wet, potentially corrosive environment is more important than high-pressure performance.

Application Industrial water transfer, cooling water circulation, sump and pit drainage, scrubber water supply, tank filling and emptying, general water movement in chemical, plating, and wastewater environments
Material PP volute + PP impeller — full corrosion resistance throughout the water-contact path. PVC and FRP alternatives available
Power range 0.75-7.5 KW
Flow range 12-35 m3/h at rated head
Head range 12-30 m
Lead time 10-20 days

Performance Table

Motor Power (KW) Flow Rate (m3/h) Head (m)
0.75 12 12
1.5 18 12
2.2 20 15
3.75 25 20
5.5 30 25
7.5 35 30

When Water Is Not Just Water

Industrial water is rarely pure H2O. Cooling water contains treatment chemicals (corrosion inhibitors, biocides, pH adjusters). Scrubber water contains absorbed acid gases and dissolved salts. Sump water contains whatever has leaked, spilled, or condensed in the area. Wastewater contains treatment chemicals and varying pH. A cast iron pump in these services corrodes — not because the water is especially aggressive, but because metal in contact with water over time always corrodes. PP stops this:

  • Corrosion immunity — not corrosion resistance, immunity. A coated or lined metal pump relies on a barrier layer that can fail. PP is solid corrosion-resistant material through its entire wall thickness — there is no substrate to corrode when a coating fails because there is no coating. The pump body cannot rust, cannot pit, cannot develop leaks from internal corrosion. Water chemistry can change — seasonal variations, process changes, chemical carryover — and the PP pump doesn’t care. For aggressive chemical transfer, see our PP Centrifugal Chemical Pump with titanium screw and enhanced seal options.
  • Lightweight — installed and serviced by one person. A PP pump body weighs approximately 1/5 of an equivalent cast iron pump. Mounting requires lighter support structure. Removal for inspection or service can be done by one technician without lifting equipment. This lightweight advantage compounds over the pump’s service life — every maintenance event is faster and requires fewer resources.
  • PP motor connection base — no corrosion at the bracket. Cast iron motor brackets on water pumps rust — condensation, splash, and ambient humidity corrode the bracket over time. A rusted bracket loses dimensional stability — the motor-pump alignment drifts, causing shaft seal wear and eventual failure. Our PP motor connection base cannot rust — it maintains dimensional stability and motor-pump alignment for the pump’s entire service life.

Why Xicheng

16 years, 2600+ systems shipped worldwide. Water pumps are the most common rotating equipment in any industrial facility — and the most neglected until they fail. A properly specified PP water pump in the right application runs for years with minimal attention:

  • Pump selected for your water, not catalog water. “Water” varies widely between applications. Cooling tower water with treatment chemicals. Scrubber recirculation water with absorbed acids and suspended solids. Sump water with unknown contamination. Tank transfer water that may contain residual chemicals from previous batches. We ask what’s actually in your water — not because PP can’t handle it, but because suspended solids concentration affects impeller selection, and chemical composition determines whether the standard PP pump is adequate or whether a chemical pump (J1) is more appropriate.
  • Matched to your system, not oversized. A pump that’s oversized for its duty operates far left on its curve — inefficient, recirculating internally, and wearing its impeller and volute faster than a correctly sized pump. We select the pump based on your actual required flow and head — not the next-size-up that costs more to buy AND more to operate.
  • Common spare parts across our pump range. Our PP water and chemical pumps share common mechanical seal, bearing, and impeller designs across the power range — reducing the spare parts inventory for facilities that operate multiple Xicheng pumps. One seal type, one bearing type, one impeller nut — simpler maintenance, fewer SKUs to stock.

Core Advantages

  • Corrosion Immunity — No Coating, No Lining, No Rust: Solid PP throughout the water-contact path — no substrate to corrode, no barrier to fail.
  • Lightweight PP Construction: One-person installation and service — no lifting equipment required for routine maintenance.
  • PP Motor Base — No Bracket Corrosion: Motor-pump alignment maintained for service life — no rust-induced misalignment causing premature seal wear.
  • Common Parts Across Pump Range: Shared seal, bearing, and impeller design with J1 chemical pump — reduced spare parts inventory.
  • Right-Sized, Not Over-Sized: Pump selected for your actual flow and head — not the next-size-up that wastes energy and wears faster.

FAQ

Water pump or chemical pump — which should I choose?

Choose the water pump (J2) for: general water transfer, cooling water circulation, sump drainage, and applications where the water chemistry is mild and predictable. Choose the chemical pump (J1) for: acid or alkali solutions, electroplating baths, chemical dosing, scrubber recirculation with aggressive chemistry, and any application where the liquid’s chemical composition is the primary pump selection factor. The chemical pump adds dry liquid sealing and titanium screw options that the water pump does not require. If your water contains corrosive agents above trace concentration, consult us — the chemical pump may be more appropriate.

Can this pump be used outdoors?

Yes, with UV-stabilized PP and an outdoor-rated motor (IP55 or IP65 enclosure). Standard PP degrades under prolonged UV exposure. Specify outdoor installation when ordering and we’ll use UV-stabilized material and the appropriate motor enclosure rating.

What maintenance does the pump require?

Annual: check motor-pump alignment, inspect shaft seal for leakage, check impeller for wear or chemical attack, verify motor bearing condition. The PP volute and impeller require no corrosion protection maintenance — no painting, no coating inspection, no rust treatment. The mechanical seal is the primary wear item — typical seal life is 3-5 years in continuous water service.
