The difference between the PP air duct and the PVC air duct

Many people feel this way about polypropylene PP air ducts and polyethylene PVC air ducts. They feel like they look alike and look almost the same. What is the difference between the two?

PP air duct

The main material of polypropylene PP air duct is polypropylene. Polypropylene is a semi-crystalline material. Harder than PE and has a higher melting point. Since homopolymer PP is very brittle at temperatures below 0 °C, many commercially available PP materials are random copolymers with an ethylene content of 1-4% or pincer copolymers with higher ethylene content. The thermal deformation temperature (100 ℃) of the copolymer PP material is lower, the transparency is lower, the gloss is lower, and the rigidity is lower, but the impact strength is stronger. The strength of polypropylene increases with increasing ethylene content. The Vicat softening temperature of polypropylene is 150°C. Due to the high crystallinity, the surface hardness and scratch resistance of this material is very good. Polypropylene PP does not have environmental stress-cracking problems.

PP air duct

The manufacturing method of PP air duct is usually stainless steel air duct: apply a sealant (such as neutral glass glue) in the gaps such as bite seam, rivet seam, flange flagging, and so on. The exterior should be cleaned of dust and oil before applying the sealant. PP air duct has an excellent function, good electrical function, high-frequency insulation, can be used normally in a humid environment, and is not affected by the environment.

Polypropylene PP air ducts have composite air ducts or inorganic air ducts. Is the pipeline system for air transportation and distribution. Professional polypropylene ventilation duct for venting corrosive gases, made of selected resin materials. The ventilation ducts of PP air ducts are of good quality and are widely used.

PVC air duct

The main component of polyethylene PVC air duct is a vinyl polymer, and its material is an amorphous material. Additives such as stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, pigments, and anti-impact agents are often added to PVC materials in practical use. It has non-flammability, high strength, weather resistance, and excellent geometric stability. PVC air ducts have strong resistance to oxidizing agents, reducing agents, and strong acids. However, it will be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid and is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
